They were lucky to get this far. Bad form in qualifying continued, and really, this wasn’t a great team. Messi deserved better service but it wasn’t forthcoming. Mascherano was past his best and not wanted by most Argentinian fans. The manager unpopular too. Higuain and Aguero, great names on paper and for their clubs. Not so international. Time for Messi to retire for good this time and for a new approach.
